Auckland Zinefest Market Weekend
Auckland Zinefest is back with the annual Zinefest Market Weekend! ✨📚
Celebrate everything zines, small-press and DIY at the beautiful Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and experience the biggest zinefest of Aotearoa. Enjoy unique works from over 120 zinemakers, indie publishers and artists from all around the motu. From poetry to illustrations, travelogues to comics, fanzines to activist zines, you'll be sure to find one-of-a-kind creations that will inform and ignite your creativity!
Zines are a medium for people to express and share experiences and opinions that are usually underrepresented in mainstream media. This is why Auckland Zinefest attracts various communities and provides an interactive space to meet and share knowledge.
Groovy Glyphs – A Typography Workshop
Groovy Glyphs - Make your own hand-lettered Typeface
Learn to create a unique typeface from your own hand-drawn glyphs using Calligraphr. This workshop will involve designing and drawing your letterforms on printed templates, which will be uploaded to generate a working font (ideal for adding a handwritten touch to all your zines and publications). Participants will ideally be able to bring a laptop to use to upload their letterforms, and may also bring an iPad if they would prefer to draw digitally.
