“For my whole life I've admired artists but fallen for the cultural story we tell ourselves that artistic ability is something you have to be born with. Two years ago I started attending some live draws out of a sense of fun and curiosity and was surprised to see that I was improving. That experience taught me that art is a skill that can be practiced and learned, and now, two years later, I'm ready to show off some of the things I've worked on.

Kia ora everyone, my name is Matthew, and I'm an amateur digital artist living in Auckland. This is my first ever zinefest and I'm really excited to have this chance to show off my work, and to make connections with other Auckland creatives. Come round my table to have a pleasant chat, or if you're interested in buying some of the zines then please do; I'm very proud of them :)

This year I have 4 zines; all short 8 pagers in A5 size: Six Scintillating Supers: My first ever zine; a worldbuilding challenge to make a series of interestingly diverse superheroes. Elves and Elegies: A simple zine about coming to terms with death. Auckland as eye see it: A photomanipulation art zine with pictures of Auckland being twisted into something unfamiliar Behold! A Titan!: Another photomanipulation zine for giant elemental women.”
