Erin Scothorn is one of three travelling writer-editor-artists who all produce zines independently but came together to edit an anthology of short stories about fantastical species - The Compendium of Enigmatic Species. Erin, Karin Murray-Bergquist and Mary Thaler are all from Canada, although Erin is the only one currently in NZ (for a year). Erin started making zines when She was a teenager, inspired by Edward Gorey's dour humour; Karin's zines are inspired by her work lecturing on ships destined for the Antarctic, and Mary draws from her experience as a scientist working in the far north of Canada.
