Zinemaking 101: Blackout Poetry & Collage Workshop

  • New Lynn Community Centre 45 Totara Avenue Auckland, Auckland, 0600 New Zealand (map)

Dive right into the world of zines by learning two fun, intuitive and iconic art forms used in zine making. Not only will you learn two new skills but also the history and significance of the art forms in zine culture.

Join poet and zinemaker, Hebe Kearney, who will help you get ‘unstuck’ artistically and let loose in a fun and comfortable group setting. Using books, magazines, and other found materials, you’ll create your own blackout poem and collage page(s). Your creations will then be scanned and turned into a collaborative zine to showcase the creations from the workshop.

All materials will be provided for free, all you’ve got to do is register to reserve your spot!
No creative experience required!

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is open to everyone and recommended for ages 13+
