TUPACAPUT
“Hello. I am a human who enjoys rainbows, seeing the moon and sleeping under the sun, my favorite color to paint / draw is black. The illustrations I do generally have a magical / satanic / supernatural / religious / spiritual / gore theme. I like to work on paper using whatever is on hand: ball pen, sharpie, ink, fine liners, brushes, to finally adjust the contrasts or symmetries digitally. My latest works are inspired by LOTERIA MEXICANA (Mexican Bingo) that currently and for more 130 years has been considered the basic board game of Mexican families but leaving aside completely the esoteric importance of the illustrations of these decks. In the publications that I will show you will find the first half of my deck which is a mix of the traditional Mexican and Rider-Waite decks and my own interpretation.
With these illustrations I will try to revive and reclaim the power of these decks and bring back the ancient tradition of divination found in them.
I will also show a Concept art for a comic that I am currently working that deals with my city of origin and its problems as it is located on the border with the United States.”
