Rachel Grainger-Jones
Rachel Grainger-Jones is a writer, illustrator and musician who has been making things to try and explain herself since 1995. She is originally from the UK but moved to beautiful Aotearoa in 2012 after several years of travelling. She works largely with black pen and ink, writes short stories about people and creatures, and composes and produces downbeat electronic pop music. She also writes and illustrates children’s storybooks about cats in space. Her first graphic novel - ‘Triumphant Visions of the Starry Raft’ - will be available at the 2021 Auckland Zinefest. It is inspired by thirteenth-century mariners maps, anthropomorphism and the indifference of the universe.
