“Kia ora. My name is Bryce Galloway. I’m an old zinester from Te Whanganui-a-Tara. I’ve been making the quarterly zine Incredibly Hot Sex with Hideous People since 2002!!! There are 76 issues to date, hopefully 77 by the time of Auckland Zinefest.

The title of my zine excites some and makes others nervous, but it’s just a cool title, there’s not actually any incredibly hot sex with hideous people in my zine, mostly it’s a perzine charting the ups and downs of my unexceptional life. “But we’re all exceptional!” I hear you counter. No, we’re not. We’re just human meat with big fucked-up brains, buying espresso, watching Netflix and masturbating. “Oh, that sounds depressing.” Mostly, people say I have a knack for looking sideways at the everyday and making it seem funny, or poignant, so don’t be worrying, visit my stall, my zines are cheap, usually just $2.50.

I’m also an art lecture at Whiti o Rehua School of Art, Massey University, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, a member of the Wellington Zinefest Board and the Hamilton Zinefest Committee. I’m a curator, and I make art in media other than zines (but mostly zines, eh). I think zines are great, and the vibe at zinefest is always the best.”
